Housing Issues

Since the attack on the rent regulations in New York State (by Democrats and Republicans alike) in 1998, and after the landlord groups sued the Housing Court because it was believed believed the court was too pro-tenant, there's been a wholesale attack on tenants of all types.  And based on the past four years of intensive involvment with helping tenants save their homes, one can only come to the conclusion that landlords are proceeding illegally in court and the judges (the ones of whom I can bear witness against) are letting them get away with it.

Democratic Royalty Hard at Work Series

Bill Murawski and Donald Winkfield produced a multi-part mini series titled Democratic Royalty Hard at Work (Democratic and Republican Parties alike working against We the People) based on the book by the same name that is a work-in-progress.  "Rules for the rulers" is how Donald Winkfield describes what is going on in our society-at-large.  Donald Winkfiels is also adamant that people wake up and stop "electing" millionaires and billionaires to public office.  Although only one segment of the mini-series is listed because of time constraints and the day-to-day changes of priorities with the election campaign, there will be more segments added as time permits.

Bill Murawski and Donald Winkfield produced a multi-part series of titled Anatomy of New York City Elections that was produced and televised during the 2005 election season.   Although only one segment of the mini-series is listed because of time constraints and the day-to-day changes of priorities with the election campaign, there will be more segments added as time permits.

Bill Murawski began his quest to fix the election process after his first eletion for the office of city council in 1997 when he ran against then Councilmember Tom Duane (now a state senator).  Although he garnered 8% of the vote in this "getting-your-feet-wet" process, he began to question the constitutionality of the New York State Election Laws when he required only 52 signatures to get "on the ballot" for the Independence Party (a long story unto itself) while other parties (Democratic and Republican) required 900 signatures and "independent" candidates required over 2000 signatures for the very same election.  Bill's inquisitive nature led him to begin his journey on the long road to understanding the process by entering into election after election for the purpose of solving the many problems with the election law once and for all.  In simple terms, Bill applied his problem solving skills developed in the corporate world to the business of elections.
