Community Cable Access TV Producer

DeWitt Clinton Presents . . . . .

Is an educational show named in the memory and honor of a humanitarian, statesman and naturalist - DeWitt Clinton..

In 1995, Rise and Shine Productions took me under their wing to teach me about video production during the time I was fighting the immoral and illegal privatization of DeWitt Clinton Park, which is located in the Clinton/Hell's Kitchen area of New York City.  My first project Get Out of Our Park! the Birth of an Activist not only received a Producer's Award from the Alliance of Community Media in 1996, it led to a community access cable TV show where I applied my writing skills to the production of television shows for educational purposes.  And after a more than two-year hiatus, I went back into the television studios to produce a series of shows titled Americans Educating America.  It is an informative series with a number of mini-series on housing, education and the importance of labor unions.  Taping will continue after the election in November.

DeWitt Clinton Presents is an educational show named in the honor of DeWitt Clinton who, amongst many of his illustrious accomplishments was a former mayor of New York City and Governor of New York State.  This giant of the Clinton family was at one time one of the most powerful figures during the early growth years of America.  He was the nephew of George Clinton who was the first Governor of New York State and the fourth Vice-President of the United States. The year 2002 marks the 200th Anniversary of DeWitt Clinton becoming the mayor of New York City for his first term.

List of Credits

1995

Privatization of Public Spaces: Get Out of Our Park! the Birth of An Activist is a documentary based on the Hell's Kitchen community's staunch efforts to stop the immoral and illegal privatization of DeWitt Clinton Park by a German-based dinner theater restaurant show called Pomp Duck & Circumstance.  The show was co-owned by Dieter Esch who is a known international career criminal.  The privatization of the park was supported by Democrat New York City Comptroller Alan Hevesi and former Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger.  While other elected Democrats sat on their hands,  I led the opposition and fought the good fight and saved the park. Privatization is one of the major focuses of  New York City's Republican Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who considers himself the "Quality of Life" mayor.  The support of elected Democratic officials proves that Democrats and Republicans work together in privatization efforts, which in fact a word that is used in place of union-busting.

1996

The Hudson River Park Bill:  Issues regarding the Hudson River Park Legislation were discussed with Ben Green who is the Executive Director of the Federation to Preserve the Greenwich Village Waterfront and Great Port.

.

1996

The Clean Air/Clean Water Act:  This was hailed and advertised as an environmental bond act with the propaganda that it was about clean air and clean water, which of course everyone wants.  It was as much a surprise to me after reading the act as it was to those who I gave tapes to that it was NOT as it was heralded.  The guest on the show is Leslie Lowe, an environmental attorney.

.

1996

Privatization of New York City Parks:  Issues regarding the privatization of local city parks with a focus on DeWitt Clinton Park.  Interesting and revealing clips of our appointed officials hard at work NOT working to maintain parks and cooperate with the community.  The unused footage for this show are being saved for a very rainy day!

1997*

Save the Rent Regulations:  A seven part series on the facts of the rent regulations that were under heavy attack in 1997.  Many issues were brought to surface many months before it became a hot issue, which was heavily publicized by the media.  The guest of the show are former State Senator Catherine Abate; State Assembly Member Debra Glick; Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields; former city councilmember and 1997 mayoral candidate Sal Albanese; Michael McKee who is the Executive Director of Tenants and Neighbors; and other members of Tenants and Neighbors.  One of the shows also included a small landlord who was opposed to diluting the rent regulations.

Americans Educating America:  Among the issues on mini-series in this educational series  are regarding education, unions and housing.  Each miniseries is titled as an Operation.  For example, Operation: Save the Working Families is about the importance of labor unions in America; Operation: Stop Illegal Evictions touches on the tactics used to illegally evict vested tenants; Operation: Save the Teachers will cover the issues of education in New York City. There are 6 shows already recorded in the planned 32 part series.

Help elect me as your public advocate.  I will continue to fight for the way life should be in New York City because I am the only candidate who knows and cares about how good it can be!

.

I became a community activist in 1995. Because of my success as an activist and uncovering corruption in the system, I gave up my successful corporate career of 30 years in the computer field in 1997 to concentrate on building a career as an advocate for all.

My word of honor!

It's unfortunate that money talks and everyone else walks in today's society. Contribute what you can to help me get elected.

One of my strenghts is that of an educator. Take a look at the community cable projects that I've done. Clips from the shows are due by the beginning of September.
